Thats right.... In clear detail I sent emails to Canada's 5 largest newspapers in which I clearly laid out the details that have surfaced in New Zealand papers and on line as of yesterday.. My thinking is simple..... If you were the owner of a company...ANY company...and you heard there were UNTRUE rumours in papers/internet etc that you were closing down wouldn't you want the rumours stopped...Of couse you would.... I have NO doubt that Mutt and Shania are already aware of the outcry this has caused... However as long as it is only a little internet talk/forum talk/small New Zealand paper thing...WELL....No big deal.... BUT if the MAJORS start to run the stories the damage control will have to kick in. In other words She will have to make a statement..... THAT IS....Unless yesterdays reports were true and the correct quote was in fact permanent..Bob
Actually good thinking bobby!!! If the big newspapers report this then Shania's lazy publicist or management will have to actually say something to clearify or do damage control. Shania or her team could careless if fan forums or sites are up in arms about this weird comment about sabbitcal but if it starts to spread into big newspaper in Canada,her homeland, then somebody will have to step up to make a statement one way or the other. Shania,her management and publicist are totally oblivious to fan sites and forums and what the fans think. They will only care if an untrue rumor spreads to a big national newspaper in her homeland after she spent all year last year telling everyone a new album in is the works.
Well no luck with the big canadian newspapers(sat edition)... Needless to say they feel there is nothing to this false alarm. Having said that The Hamilton Spectator(google it)...Type in search Shania Twain.... This is a VERY respected large daily newspaper(remember Hamilton Ontario is where Shania practiced for a week AND opened the Up tour)... The have an exellent online article describing the on goings with Shania and what went on that day... It also in a round about way supports my posting that Shania wasn't having a good hair day which might explain her unusual comment... If she was going to have sang anything to them that day it might have been....THIS don't impress me much.... As the article points out... Try to picture shania stomping around looking for a photo opp with a Prime Minister. If you know her she was no happy camper...Bob
Just a footnote... I am no fool...Will support her to the end but I am very aware that she is an EXELLENT little actress...In her industry she has to be... She knows exactly what to say...when to speak and when not to.... Now if any of you believe shania was enjoying this event...Well don't make me laugh... I can here Walter already...Oh Bob...So she is a liar....NO Walter....She is a true professional and knows how to play the game VERY WELL..... Anyhow....If anyone thinks that this was not the "rubbing the salt in the wound day", then I would Disagree TOTALLY... C'mon.... People/press/politicians/hikers/ tramping all over THEIR land and having to build huts to accomodate them to boot....REALLY FOLKS.... As I said...I support her but this is a day that she HATED...No matter what she said about the event to the trespassing press...SHE HATED IT...... And then a mic gets jammed in her face and asks her about her future plans.... We are talking about a woman here with attitude. I know I wouldn't want to go toe to toe with her in a heated debate.. Personally I figure she would have love to told him what she really wanted to say...It likely would have contained some 4 letter words but she is WAY to smart for that..That is why she is a PRO...In every way...Bob
I agree with some of what you say Bob. I personally do not believe she is a liar. Just because someone says something you don't like does not make them a liar. Her comment about "Permanent sabatical" was the best thing short of a 4 letter word to say to that reporter to get him to basically shut up. lol I have never believed Shania to be a liar. I think life happens and music does not get recorded as fast as some would like. This fact too does not make her a liar. All the inconsistencies are due to life happening. I personally don't believe we will have new music until next year. I believe she is working on it. Time will tell who is right. In this case I hope I am wrong.
