Well "According" to HELLO this is a recent Shania quote... Did she say it...Personally I have no idea.... But I do know what I PERSONALLY have heard her say...WITH MY OWN EARS.... Not in some magazine reports. I have heard her say that she can only be creative when she can get away from it all including family... Certainly this seems to be consistant with the great place for inspiration satement that they report that she made. Needless to say it is my hope that she is there to get away from it all,so she can be inspired to write some new music. Hopefully however, that new music will be for HER CD.. Again I heard her PERSONALLY that she does have some intrest in maybe looking at writing for others... ANYHOW.... At best I would suggest, that the most we can hope for at this point, is she is there to get inspired to write music for HER CD.. Hopefully to be released in 2009 or 2010.... As I have stated for as long as you can all remember... 2008 is a non starter. Hanging around here as much as I do I can hear the replys already....Well if it takes her this long to get inspired then she is not a real artist... My response to that, is maybe because she moves slow and takes her time she has become what she is...An icon.... Bob
I completely agree that her next cd will be out in 2009. I just can't see it being this year. I think also because she is a true artist in every sense that it takes her this long to put a cd together. She was quoted a few times when asked about when the cd will be finished and her responce was "When is a painting finished...I don't know". Mutt too is well known for taking a long time to produce an album. As I have stated already Def Leppard were so upset about the length of time Mutt was taking that they were set to fire him. Obviously they are glad they did not and that cd went on to be there biggest sellar. I do not feel even remotely that Mutt may be dated musically. He I am sure keeps up to date with what is going on in music. So does Shania. UP was such a different cd than COO which was different from TWIM. Personally I can't wait to see what they will come up with next.
Hey Lulu... I know I don't have to tell you how much I respect your thoughts but this time I just don't know if I can sign on with you... Music has just changed so much... Today there is just a "new" sound in non country music.. You know the sound I mean.. I don't quite know what to call it but it is just a sound... When I think of Man I feel like a woman,it just seems REALLY old... I would suggest that if Mutt and Shania can pull it off it will have to be a sound that we hardly recognize as Shania... Similiar to what Ms Dion had to do with her new sound in order to keep cool with the new styles in music.... Personally I feel she should stick to her roots(country) and walk away with every award out there. Pushing that double CD thing with cross over as part of it....PRETTY UGLY in my opinion... Bob
Well, if anyone can pull it off (a new sound) Shania and Mutt can. I did not mind the double album although I only listened to the country version. I think there is a strong possibility she will release 2 versions again as she has such a wide fan base. I do believe most of that fanbase is still there. I know Celine went to more of a light rock sound for her last album (the one thats out now). Maybe Shania will too. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I wonder if she is feeling the pressure to produce a hit album? Hopefully not.
