Motatapu IceBreaker Mountain Bike Race

Hi guys,

Just out of interest sake, it was the annual Motatapu Icebreaker Marathon this weekend (Sat 14th). This is the mountain bike race that passes Shania's house and travels over her spectacular property.

It was a great turn out with about 2000 competitors and it was a picture perfect day, although it has been reported one person died while competing in the race.  

My girlfriends brother took part and managed to come 1st place in the junior section and 9th place in the entire race (15 mins behind the fastest mountain biker in the world).

Hey Dave are those races where the bike tires have spikes on them?

hey, no its just a normal mountain kike race w ith normal tread tires.

Oh i watched on tv one time with motorcycles and they had spikes on the tires,i was waiting for a accident and to see if anyone got impaled.Looks dangerous
