Probably the STC will be also if she does not get new music out.

That is funny - I have a LOT of 'Shania by Stetson' perfume. The roll-on perfume stick, all never opened - a limited edition pink cosmetic bag, a limited edition 'pink kinda sunrise' effect bottle...I was going to sell them on eBay....hmmm...maybe I should wait. I have way too much.

I liked the first fragrance, but as much as I love all things Shania, I just did not like the scent of 'Starlight'

I have only "Shania by Stetson" perfume. I live in Estonia so I had troubles with buying this. I hoped to get Starlight someday but it will never happen. :(

I believe now when the fragrances are discontinued eBay will sell only remains, no new items. So it won't be forever. It's strange actually that they stopped both at once.

I hate to say but I told you so.
I told you that Coty was pissed off at her and how lazy she was.
Part of the deal with Coty was that she had to be an active artist. She failed in that.
Since her first perfume debut in 2005 she has done nothing regarding music.
Her deal with Coty was for a 4 perfume line. So she had 2 perfume lines left on the deal. Shania has sunk to a new low level and her perfume has now failed because she couldn't keep her end of the deal.
And I predict that the STC will be the next to be gone.
As a Shania fan for 14 years Shania has become a joke and she deserves every bit of this bad news.
I feel sorry for Coty or the STC for even believing she had motivation to continue to be an artist. Look at how much the STC put into the centre believing they had someone with a long career and motivation.

And Shania should stop her immature blogs because those are a joke too. Who the heck cares about her love life or her travels.
Any fan should only care about music which will never come and thats why people are dropping her now.
How long before her label drops her?

Actually its not strange. Once an artist breaks a deal and shows no signs of having an active career then Coty can teminate the deal. She had 2 perfume lines left on the deal.Her original deal was for 4 perfume lines.
Obviosly Shania couldnt' give Coty assurance that she will have music out any time soon and part of the original deal that she had to be active and Coty would sell the perfume with new music.
Shania has sunk to a new level of low.
The STC is next to go.

They were top sellers according to Coty so either Shania broke the contract or they got pissed off at her because she has been inactive so long.
And it has been over 2 years since her last perfume line and she isn't doing anything.
She still has 2 perfume lines left on the contract so either someone terminated the contract or they just dicontinued the first 2 lines and will wait for her new line when she puts another one out

Agreed, but since this is December already, this Coty news sort of indicates that there will be no Shania presence in early 2010. Some fans thought that her January/February American Idol appearance would coincide with some type of Shania news/hype/presence, but if Coty is discontinuing her line now, that would suggest that Shania couldn't assure them of anything new with her in the months to come. Which then suggests that her American Idol appearance will just be a brief Shania surfacing, with her then dropping out of the spotlight for months at a time once again, with no new music news forthcoming.

As far as discontinuing her fragrances, it doesn't neccessarily have to do with any kind of contract being broken. Celebrity fragrances are more of a gimmick than anything and probably once the "newness" wears off and sales go down the company discontinues them. I highly doubt we'll see Tim McGraw's cologne on the shelves next year. Many fragrances are dropped every year.

I agree with that too, Tommy. But I also don't think Coty would discontinue her current perfumes right before her big comeback. Her big comeback would still move old product. Which leads me to believe that Shania has indicated to Coty that there is no big comeback in sight.

This is just speculation of course, but it seems logical to me.

I do agree that they are more of a gimmick, but there are plenty of stars that have had successful perfume lines for many years; Britney, J.Lo, etc....

And there is no way that Cody would drop Shania just because there is no music. It has to be because her sales went way down and coupled with the news from Shania that no new music is in sight. I know that they did at one time sell really well.

It is sad to see the line discontinued. And right before Christmas?? What a dumb move.

I bought Tim McGraw's cologne for my son it is very nice. This is upsetting about Shania's perfume. I also thought it strange that she is apparently is trying to get rid of all items in her storage. Offering deals for merchandise. I take that she is either quitting or getting ready to come back with new stuff and with new music. This news of her perfume does not seem promising at all.

Yeah but IF the fragrances have not been discontinued, then why are they no where to be found at retailers like Walmart, Sears, etc. as stated in the email, and more importantly, why does http://www.shaniabystetson.com no longer exist? That really doesn't make sense.

I guess you can rationalize it however you want but the product lines are not discontinued according to Coty.
And the person who sent me the email is product specialist and consumer affairs for Coty Inc.
I sure as heck think she knows if the products are disonctinued or not.

You honesty think product specialist and consumer affairs expert of Coty doesn't know and Angie does lol!!!
And I don't what stores you guys have been into but there are all the stores where I live.

The person who sent me the email from Coty is Marie Stuart, prodect specialist for Coty global inc.
She is up to date on all the products from Coty

I sure as heck would take her word(someone words with consumer affairs daily of all the products) over anything Angie tells us.

Bottom line the product line is not discontinued.
There is no debate.

Believe what you want Tommy and you can take Angies word over somone who deals with consumer affairs and Coty products dail and her job is to answer all questions regarding Coty customers. I sure as heck she knows ever single thing that goes on in Coty and is up to date by the second.
YOu honesty are taking Angies word over someone who is a product specialist for Coty.
Why not post the email I got from the actual source, Coty.

The facebook was found out to be a fraud that some believe could of been Carrie(including me)
But Coty is the actual source and we know it isn't a fraud and knows first hand about all their products.

Do me a favor and do some research on your own. Go and contact Coty through email or by toll free number and specifically ask about Shania's 2 perfume lines.
They know everything and will answer your questions.

As for Angie, please don't get me started. For everything she got right, she also got a few things wrong.
But this isn't about Angie, it is about what Coty's answer is to the if Shania products are still continued..
So if you want the truth ask Coty yourself.

She also got wrong about the place Shania bought some of her clothes.
and the only time she actually confirms something is when it has already been made public just like when there was the rumor of an album in the spring.
She also said in 2008 that Shania would not be at the ACM or CMA but Shania turned up at the CMA .

Believe Coty or believe Angie but at least do the research yourself .
