Just wondering since Shania is retiring from the live performance part of her music and wants to focus more on writing music for herself and others what name will she do that under. Will she use Shania Twain or will she use Eilleen Twain or will she use Eilleen Thiebaud?
From a business perspective, I really wouldn't understand why she would change her name. "Shania Twain" is a household name...like "Garth","Madonna", etc. You know you have became ULTRA famous when people know you by your FIRST name throughout the civilized world. I understand it is a unique name, but nonetheless a HUGE asset due to her previous success. She has not mentioned she would change her name. I hope she doesn't pull a "Garth" and change it...(remember the Chris Gaines fiasco?)

To be fair, maybe she doesn't want the name recognition. Maybe instead she wants her songs to be recorded based on the quality of the song and not because "Shania Twain" wrote it. JK Rowling published under a pen name after Harry Potter even though "JK Rowling" would certainly sell more books. That said, I don't think she will use a completely new name. How was she credited on the Britney Spears song? (I don't actually know, but I would guess that would be the precedent.)

I guess she will just use 'Shania Twain' since that's the name people know her by. If people know she wrote it, they might listen to is, just because she wrote it. If she changes her name in the songwriting, most people will not know it's Shania who wrote it. That could be an advantage, but with the fame she got with 'Shania' I think it's a better choice to write under that name. And to be Eilleen Thiebaud when she does her groceries.
