14 JULY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Global superstar Shania Twain will return to her roots for a special one-night-only performance at Toronto’s iconic Horseshoe Tavern on Friday, July 17, ahead of her seventh LP, Little Miss Twain, set to release July 24 via Republic Nashville/Universal Music Canada. Long before she became one of the world’s best-selling artists, Shania Twain got her start performing in bars across her hometown of Timmins, Ontario, a formative chapter that inspired Little Miss Twain. My God Faded Blue Jeans was amazing. She sounds better in a club setting like extremely talented and her best live vocals I have heard yet

I was there! She was fully live, and she even improvised the finale with the band. After Man!, she said “I want to play one more but I don’t know which one?” And the crowd asked for Giddy Up! and they played it spontaneously as the encore.

She also debuted two new songs live: Stranger Things and (I’m guessing!) I’d Be Loving Me, but that one was less clear. But both beautiful performances. She also debuted Faded Blue Jeans and Little Miss Twain live.

I'd Bè Loving Me sounds amazing and Little Miss Twain live is beyond words. I find it to be one of her best songs in ages even though I love the Queen of Me album.

'Full-circle moment': Shania Twain finally plays Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern

The iconic venue turned her down before she became a music superstar

Thirty-three years after releasing her self-titled debut album, Shania Twain played a rare club show for 500 fans Friday night at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern – a venue she once dreamed of playing but couldn’t book early in her career.

The iconic music spot has hosted the Tragically Hip, the Rolling Stones, the Police and thousands of other artists. It was also the stage Twain yearned to play while growing up in Timmins, Ont.

“I grew up in Northern Ontario,” Twain, 60, told the crowd early in her 10-song set. “And the dream in my little bar bands at the time, all through my youth and my teens, even in my 20s, was to play the Horseshoe Tavern. But we weren’t recognized … we just weren’t established enough, so we never made the hire here.”

As she crisscrossed Ontario chasing a music career, one stage always eluded her: the Horseshoe.

That changed this week when Twain – who is preparing to release her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, on July 24 – booked the pub for a surprise show.

“This is my first time in the Horseshoe Tavern,” she said to a roomful of cheers. “I guess I’ve finally made it after all these years.”

Between songs, Twain shared stories about her life, career and the inspirations behind her new music.

Twain recalled how playing the Horseshoe was the benchmark every young Northern Ontario musician talked about.

“We all talked about that up North, ‘Oh, maybe someday we can play the Horseshoe Tavern.’ And now I’m playing here. I feel like it’s a very full-circle moment,” she said. “My home province, with all you beautiful people, in this historic bar. So it’s a privilege to be here, finally … Making it to the city was always the dream because I knew that here was where it was all happening.”

The packed room quickly grew sweltering, but Twain encouraged the crowd to lean into it.

“I know it might be difficult to tolerate, but it’s so good for the vocal cords. So I welcome hot and steamy,” the five-time Grammy winner quipped.

Over roughly 75 minutes, Twain – dressed in a black skin-tight bodysuit and matching boots – and her five-piece band played some of her biggest career-defining hits, including Come On Over, Any Man of Mine, You’re Still the One, That Don’t Impress Me Much, and Man! I Feel Like A Woman!

She also performed tracks from the upcoming release, including her new single Dirty Rosie.

Twain’s intimate gig follows a 12-show opening slot for pop star Harry Styles during his Together, Together residency at London’s Wembley Stadium.

I’ve really made it now!! ❤️ Thank you everyone who came, you don’t know what it means to me.

As soon as I heard about the Shania Twain fan contest offered by RBC to see her live at The Horseshoe Tavern I started looking for old photos of me and Shania together, me at various concerts. LOL! I really need to organize my things, because I have so many more pictures of meeting Shania, and I could only find a couple of pictures of me going to her concert. Somewhere, I even have an autographed copy of Shania‘s first CD pre-fame.

I found out mid morning on the day of the show that I was a potential winner, and that I had to fill out a release form and have it signed, and answer a skill testing question. I was so nervous that I needed a friend to help me

I wasn’t able to relax until the tickets were finally emailed to me. My friend arrived at the venue about 45 minutes before me, and he was in the lineup outside. Yes, there was a lot of waiting, and that was the part that sucked, but it was worth it to see Shania in concert just a couple of feet away.

I am pretty sure I saw Eja, but not 100% because there are not a lot of pictures of him and he changes his hair and facial hair every once in a while. I saw an assistant carrying Sapphie out front.

One of the first things Shania said as she arrived on stage was that she hoped the room would get hot and steamy, because it was better for her voice. I have to say, and you will hear it when you listen to the videos, that’s Shania‘s voice was in very good shape last night. Toronto has been hot and humid for weeks. The air quality has been terrible because of the forest fire smoke, but the humidity has obviously helped her voice.

I will post a couple of pictures, including one where you can see Fred to the side of the stage, taking pictures. some of the pictures I have already seen on this thread look almost identical to the pictures. I took. Her band was GREAT!

The crowd was incredibly energetic and very appreciative of EVERY song, whether classic hit or yet to be released. It was magical to hear Shania sing “Little Miss Twain” because I could hear the emotion in her, and see the emotion on her face. The Horseshoe Tavern is the closest thing to the type of place that Shania would have played early in her career- BUT it was on her wish list of places to perform - and she finally got her wish!
