Great quotes Tina, and interview questions. I did not know about the criticisms in the pop sector of music with regards to Shania but I do know about the country negativity. They still try to damage her career a good example is how they blocked "Forever and for Always" from being a #1 hit even though it had garnered the required number of spins to be a #1 song. Too many politics I guess in all areas of music.

It is so nice to hear about the happy marriage she has with Mutt. It is wonderful to have a partner you love and can rely on. They make great music together.

I think the pop and rock critics are if anything more savage towards Shania. I'm speaking from over In England where she hides her country style .I remember the negative reviews she got from the London press for her sparkling Hyde Park performance. I don't think they could take the fact that a Canadian country star could sell out 85,000 tickets on her own.

Anne Murray Defends Shania. From CP: In an article in which Anne Murray expresses how she feels hurt when people consider her a has-been and forget about all her accomplishments, Anne also takes time to defend Shania: "People take you for granted. They don't know a lot of the stuff that has gone on." And the veteran performer, who has more than 30 albums under her belt, says she sees the backlash happen with other Canadian superstars all the time. "I saw an article on Shania . . . somebody putting Shania Twain down and this was a Canadian guy," said Murray. "I thought 'What is there to dislike about Shania Twain?' She's beautiful. She sings great. She writes great songs. She's a good person. "I look at that and think 'why do people try to look so hard for something bad about somebody?"'

At the recent CMA Awards in Nashville, Toby Keith, who had 7 nominations came up empty handed. Well, that is nothing new for Shania. After the award ceremony, Shania sought out her old "Triple Play" tour mate for some chit chat. Toby mentioned his encounter with Shania:
Toby told us that Shania Twain made a point to seek him out for an extended conversation. "Here she is, completely ignored by the CMA this year, and yet there she was singing on the show. Then she seeks me out to talk. We talked about a lot of things, she asked about my family, and things that are really important. She's just a class act," Toby said of the woman he feels shouldn't have been passed over by the CMA.

I guess when you become as big as Shania there are those out there in both pop and country who would like to knock her down. I remember when Shania was snubbed. Toby was right to point that out.

He was funny, said grab my boob I'm so sensitive. Shania busted out laughing. He said he shed a tear driving when he heard YSTO. They also talked about how MIFLAW is a signature song of Shania and so opposite of YSTO but still both Shania personalities.

Of course said YSTO is such a Mutt and I song. Sad.

I feel that the people that knock her are out of her mind and Shania should not even care what they think for she is her own person and is a great singer. If she would like to visist New Jersey I'm here.

Gentlemen,you are both right.
but the good thing is that her lovers are many more than her bashers,i'm sure many people really love her like i do,how can you not to...she is a good person that went that extra mile for her charity,she could easily give some money and that's it, but she was spending alot of her free time trying to help people instead of,say,go for a vacation with her family in hawai,and now that her marriage is over i appreaciate her dedication to charity even more.
she could have been a party animal spending her money on cars,clothes,holidays all around the world,but almost every August she was in Canada preparing her project to help underprivileged kids.
 My hat's off to shania,a truly special lady,may God be with her and her loved ones.

Yes well said country gal, Shania quietly went about giving to all of her charities not looking for acknowledgement of it. She has charity projects working in Ontario.. She is such a wonderful person she does not deserve this. I really hope she is ok.

yes i wish there was a way to let shania know that at least her fans are still here and love her,maybe if would couls send a letter to Mercury???
i decided to go to this Centre this August,it is the only thing i can do to support her,the news of their separation hit me hard.
