According to a report, Nickelback will reportedly work with legendary producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange on the band's sixth studio album. Lange is best known for producing the classic AC/DC albums Highway to Hell and Back in Black, as well as Def Leppard's landmark efforts Pyromania and Hysteria. In recent years he has produced albums by country superstar and wife Shania Twain. The extremely reclusive Lange made the news in May when it was announced that he and Twain were separating after 15 years of marriage.
Lange also produced For Those About to Rock, We Salute You for AC/DC, as well as High 'n' Dry and Adrenalize for Def Leppard.
He has also produced Bryan Adams, the Cars, Foreigner and many others.
There's no word on when Nickelback plans to begin recording or release its next CD. The new album will follow up 2005's All The Right Reasons, which has sold nearly seven million copies in the U.S.
Rumors have surfaced recently that the Canadian quartet have been attempting to renegotiate their contract with Warner Music Group, with one report suggesting that the band may sign a lucrative new deal with Live Nation.
It looks like Nickelback and Mutt lange will have the their new album out in November. It didn't take long to do this album as with other Mutt Lange albums. And they only started to record later this year. Could this whole seperation of been a plan because Shania and Mutt knew they wouldn't have her new album out in time for this year and Mutt wanted to work with Nickelback and finish their album. So they came up with this major plan to have Shania as the victim and then they all of a sudden get back together later this year or early next year and record Shania's new album. I am just putting this out as a theory. Shania and Mutt knew they were getting lots of heat from everybody for taking so long with Shania's album so this seperation would be the best excuse of all. I am not saying I am right, I am just putting this out as a theory and don't be surprised if Shania and Mutt are back together soon.

And maybe Mutt was fed up with Shania being so unmotivated that he moved on and started producing other acts. Remember it is Mutt who is the one who motivates and he was the one who had to convince Shania to even record the UP album after 911. Because Shania was using 911 as an excuse to not make anymore music. She said it herself in an interview that Mutt convinced her that they had to make music and make people happy. Mutt Lange even though he may of cheated or may not have, is the one who directed Shania and motivated her to be so big. Without Mutt she may even have less motivation despite what she says. Actions speak louder than words.
At least Mutt made a safe choice who to produce, Nickelback have momentum and there next album would be a big hit with or without Mutt Lange.

Nickelback's next studio album will arrive Nov. 18 via Roadrunner, just in time for the holiday retail season. First single "If Today Was Your Last Day" will hit U.S. radio outlets Sept. 30.
The Canadian rock outfit is recording the as-yet-untitled project in Vancouver with producer Mutt Lange, who hasn't worked on a new album since ex-wife's Shania Twain's "Up" in 2003.
The album is the follow-up to 2005's "All the Right Reasons," which has sold an astonishing 6.9 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
In July, Nickelback signed a multi-rights deal with Live Nation, including its recordings once its Roadrunner deal is completed. The band is expected to play Live Nation amphitheaters beginning next year.

Yea, because Mutt would really make an ass out of himself just to set that as an excuse for taking so long. That makes perfect sense for someone that is paranoid about just being photographed and such :]
This info is posted under music "Nickelback Tap AC/DC producer" thread.
I actually posted this before you posted the news and this is thread is not so much about Nickelback as it is about Mutt Lange and Shania situation. So this thread is not about Nickelback but about Shania and Mutt.
