Every year Shania or management or publicist take maybe 3 seconds of their time to send some generic fake christmas message that really means nothing. Will the fans get the same type message this year or will it be more personal and tell the fans that music is on the way. She has known for ages that her fans have been patient and just want some assurance . She dodged the press and questions for years with evasive answers. Will Shania give her fans some good news in her message or will it be the usual generic fake message that could of been written by her publicist.
I personally think it will be the same generic message.If Shania wanted her fans to know anything else or any news she would of been more specific and made it clear to her fans at the CMA.
Quite frankly Shania's label, Shania's management and most of Shania herself have always treated the fans like they never even existed. That is my opinion, what is yours?
No idea, but a generic message is better than nothing at all I suppose.
I would argue that nothing at all is better than a meaningless generic christmas message. It doesn't come from an honest place. It would be different if she has been connected with fans over the years and did something for the fans. But to come out with a generic christmas well wishing once a year when you spend your whole career avoiding your fans is not going to cut it. She knows very well that the fans have been waiting for any real news from her for years. I think it would be a slap in the face to the fans if it is the same generic message. This is my opinion, I think the fans deserve better. But obviously Shania and her managment and publicist don't think we deserve better. They infact think we deserve nothing and should worship the ground they walk. I stand up for the fans.
I'm probably going to get some fire on this, but I'll say it anyway. Shania showing up at the CMA's and not saying anything about her music and/or the status of her and Mutt was cowardly. It's been over 6 months since her official statement and it would be great if she'd say something.
A brief "working on record, not working on record, we're divorced, not getting a divorce, not sure what's going on" would be appropriate. This "hope to see you soon...", what was that? Talk about generic and vague.
Maybe I'm too suspicous, but the longer and more weird this thing gets, makes me wonder if the whole split was niothing but a publicity stunt.
I think the message will be generic as well. I don't expect any cd earlier than November 2009. Thats almost a year away. To say anything now would be premature. It would be nice to get something but we will not. This is her history.

ACtually it should be a huge concern since Shania has toyed with her fans for years with no connection to them and being very cold. The least she could do is give them a more personal message reassuring them of new music. Instead of publicity stunts in New York and then laughing at the cameras when she gets in the limo. It is about time she is honest and stops hiding behind everyone.
Im not concerned, but a lot of people say she is already recording ,one post has her almost done. Im just saying if these reports are true why hasn't her record company said anything?
I think it's important that she lets us know the situation with her music, even if it's only a brief statement. That would be a step towards restoring people's faith in her as fans obviously feel disappointed they've waited all this time and still no new album and while she's been out of the spotlight we have continued to support her by buying things like her perfumes.

I also think if Shania had been in the studio recording then something would have leaked to the press and we would know about it. Yup, I would love a note about where she is at with music but I highly doubt we will see any of this in a Christmas message. She will keep the holidays separate from work news.

YOu are wrong again in my opinion. The christmas message is the perfect time to get more personal and tell the fans the truth. She has ignored her fans for years and it would be great if she gave them reassurance. And you would have no clue about her working in the studio if she wanted to keep it quiet. It would not have leaked at all. If she was or is working with just one producer to get the vocals down then nobody would know if they didn't want you to know. Once she goes to Nashville and adds the musicans to the music and the mixes then you will hear something. But if Shania was working secretely with a producer then you would have no clue what she was doing. There were many times when we had no clue Shania was working on her GH cd unitl it was announced she would have a GH. The 3 songs on the GH cd were already recorded and finished long before we even knew she was releasing a GH cd.
Yep, he sure stirs the pot, but I find his style refreshing and maybe more fans share his views than will admit.
I've been checking out a few Shania message boards recently and they all seem very sanatized compared to this one, that was what compelled me to register here.
