I'm going along with Peever, it must be something related to her new album. It can't be anything to do with the perfume, because I would like to think, she's focusing on the music at the minute and is anxious to share it with us.

They are just teasing the fans again. It has nothing to do with music.
The make it sound so exciting. Maybe the fans will get a free key chain lol!!!
I really honestly feel for the fans who are being duped like this.
The constant of getting fans hopes up for nothing.
If this had anything to do with music she wouldn't just share it with the fanclub, it would be shared with her whole fan bas and her management or lable would be the one to say something.
They treat the fans in the fanclub like niave kids thinking you would jump for joy for a new key chain or picture.
I guess that is why so many have left the fanclub and only join when she has a tour on for good seats and deals. But she only tours once every 6 years.
It is very sad that the fans are treated this way and taken for fools.

If it is something uninteresting like a key chain and not music related, I don't think Angie would have referred to it as "super exciting".

They have before. They said it was something exciting and turned out to be not much at all.
Super exciting? The only thing that would get the fans excited would be some news by Shania of an album. Not some contest where the fans get little kiddy prizes or not some picture or key chain or lame fanclub package that people pay for anyway.

Yes she is a fan and she runs the fanclub I believe.
But we have seen this same story over and over again. They need to try and get the fans to stick around in the fanclub and pay their fees.
So they come up with these lame prizes or packages to keep the fans interest.
They must think the fans are all 3 years old by the little stickers and key chains they give and call it super exciting news.

I have heard people have had some bad experiences with it. Is Angie the person to approach if there is a problem? Maybe those fans who didnt get their packs can get her to look into it for them.

Whatever makes you feel better Tonto. I don't drink the Shania team cool aide like you. I just say what I believe and have been a fan longer than most, since 1993.
It seems many people who have paid for the fanclub are fed up with it too and have been ripped off. So I just mentioned that the fans who do pay aren't treated well. And I don't have to be a member to observe and see the obvious.If it makes you feel better then I won't say another word about the fanclub and you can continue whatever it is you do in the fanclub. And for the record I never said anything about Angie, she is okay and only tells the fans what she can and has been told to.
Believe what you want and enjoy your key chains or pictures or stickers because it won't be any super exciting thing that you will be getting.

So kevy your always crying about people bashing you because of your opinion but have no problem going after another members opinion and insulting them on top of it.Calling Tonto a kool aid drinker and using her sign off for no other reason but to be insulting is over the top.So tell us kevy how do you know that all these fans worldwide are fed up and feel ripped off?Nobody is holding a gun to their heads so if their sending their money in then obviously they don't feel that they are getting ripped off.

Just want to say " Pour me a cold one and oh by the way fub my feet give me somthin' to eat Hi honey I'm home and I had a hard day" . The cold one I refer to is another Kool Aid. I love it. Also if I am being ripped off then who better to be ripped off by then Shania Twain. She can rip me off any day. Happy to let her have whatever she wants as long as I get pictures and keychains and whatever she wants me to have along with new music and a concert in the future. I' ll take whatever I get and be happy as I support her and the fanclub always,

If you are talking about joining the fanclub they do not take PayPal. They take credit card information when you are done shopping.

Tanya, they take checks and credit cards. They're trying to implement PayPal, though. Not sure when that will happen.

Actually, the people that didn't get their kits in the past...

A. The didn't update their profile info w/their current address (not MusicToday's fault)

and,

B. A certain "fan" had about 30 memberships under different names and was posting on every site she could think of for MT to send her her kits! Whiich she in turn, would sell on eBay for $100 a pop. Again, not MT's fault. Only one membership per person and all her memberships were cancelled.

I have seen those on Ebay and some were listed on there not too long ago. I guess it's all about the money to some people.

How am I supposed to know what people think? And obviously, if it was new music, why would it just be for her fan club? That doesn't make any sense. I know it has nothing to do with music as usual but when you say super exciting news then you know very well some of the younger fans will get excited thinking it was new music. I think the only thing super exciting will be if the fans finally get some new music and that is what many people who were making comments on the Shaniaforums thought and still think.
Nothing at all would be super exciting unless it is new music so I think those words lead the fans on.
Fans were even saying on the shaniaforums that they will be let down again if it has nothing to do with new music because when someone says super exciting news then you automatically think the loyal patient fans will finally be gettting some news regarding new music after waiting almost a decade.
So there is nothing super exciting about any news from the OFC and many fans hoping for good news and are part of the fanclub will be let down by that statement and expectations of the news.

Kevy, stop harrassing Angie and blaming her for the OFC's "faults" and lack of communiation with fans! Also, she never implied the surprise has anything to do with new music. To be fair to Kevy I have heard stories about ppl not getting their kits at all, the fan club dont even reply to emails, they ignore them. I read the forums just now and ppl are wanting to join just because of what Angie said. Why cant they send kits out immediately? They have the addresses of members so why the delays? Angie how do you know there is something big to be announced if you dont work for them? Its only fair if you say things like that and ppl join that they are not messed around by the fan club, even if you dont work for them you are playing some part in pulling them in. It doesnt seem fair to me and I'm the last person to say anything negative about Shania. Her fan club lets her down, and her fans even more so.

Hardy Hemphill, her keyboardist, is also aware of the problems with her fan club through contact he's had with fans. Whether or not he has actually raised thsoe concerns with Shania, I don't know.

It's not the fanclub. People expect too much. They expect more contact and involvement from Shania and she just has not done that in a long time. Maybe she will again and maybe not. That is her decision. Nothing anyone can do about that but Shania herself. If she recommits herself back to her career she will probably still not have too much time for the fanclub. It is her decision whether or not she wants to take the time and make the commitment if you join expecting anything more than that is your mistake. Shania has not been overly involved with the fans or her fanclub in years. Maybe that will be one of the things she will change. We can always hope. If not that's Ok too. I will still be a member as I like the people I have met and the things we talk about. We all agree that Shania is the best and that's all that matters.

Angie can you confirm that this is not in connection with new music? Fans around the boards seem to be thinking there will be an announcement of new music this week. I know you mean well but some fans will be very depressed if it is nothing exciting, when you build something up like this it does make ppl join, but it can also upset ppl. I know of fans who live by these things and it affects their health when big announcements are not what they expect, so could you at least say it is not new music? Surely you can say that.

I'm sorry, but those fans are delusional. No rational person is expecting a new album announcement to occur this week. And are fans seriously letting their health get affected by the announcement, or non-announcement, of a new Shania Twain album? Ugh. That's simply ridiculous. Angie should actually stay far away from fans such as these. It isn't Angie's place to coddle fans who have lost touch with reality.

Those are good points, if it's not about new music, what could possibly be super exciting? It can't be a TV appearance, as Shania doesn't have anything to promote. I'm completely baffled.
