Mutt destroyed any future music collaboration and Shania is better off without him, she seems much happier with Frederic and has a new outlook on life.
I wish them both the best. Those two made beautiful music together and did a lot for one another. Just because they divorced doesn't mean that Mutt is the cull. At one point he loved Shania with all his heart and renewed his belief in love through her. Things soured later on because he may have cheated on her. Who knows? It looks like he cheated, infidelity isn't black and white regardless of sex. If Shania had cheated fans would excuse it and say that Mutt asked for it because he didn't love her enough or mistreated her somehow.

I wonder now if he ever loved her. For me, cheating (if he did indeed cheat--and it looks like he did) is the ultimate slap in the face and I just don't think that you could be in love with the person if you cheat on them. I just don't see how you could have ever loved them.
There are a lot of asumptions been made here, last I heard they were not divorced, maybe I missed something. Of course he loved her.
If he "did" cheat (no assumptions being made) then he did NOT love her. People do not cheat on people that they love.
Well i think in her blog when Shania said everything has been well documented this last year, she was referring to the affair.But to say Mutt never loved her because he had a affair 13 years later i don't agree with.Mutt was a millionaire and he didn't ask for a pre-nup,i think he loved her.In a lot of marriages things happen,like what Mutt said they grew apart,but that doesn't mean he never loved her.
I think they loved each other for a long time or they would not have been together so long. Also think that it was a shock to Shania. He said they grew apart but she did not seem to realize it as she has always said that she is a loner and loves to be alone a lot. Maybe she spent too much time alone doing her own thing not realizing he needed more. But it looks like to me he would have talked to her about it first and not go out and do what he allegedly did. To do what he did was really cruel and was meant to hurt her. As he knew how this would damage his entire family but did it anyway. Difficult to understand how people can do this to each other as forgiveness may come in time but you never forget these types of hurts as the scars remain forever. Somewhere along the way he lost that loving feeling. Maybe she was too into doing her own thing and he was too and they really did grow apart. She didn't reallize it and he made a huge mistake or maybe it was his way of being a coward and bailing on the marriage. Whatever happened I think you are right at some point he didn't love her enough any more. If he had he would have went to her and told her and not done the awful thing he did as it had to have destroyed her to some extent but she is strong and resilient and she will over come this and be better for it. She will learn from it and be better able to handle things like this if they come up again and unfortunately with all relationships it will rear its ugly head again. Warmest regards as always, Tonto
Of course he loved her. And Mutt probably still cares for her as they've known each other for 15 years and hopes to remain friends. But as the articles have said communication is poor between them; they don't talk much. It's too painful for Shania. She acknowledges she wouldn't be where she is today if Mutt hadn't come along in time as he made her music sound great, but it wasn't all him that is credited for her success, she pulled her own weight and those songs came from her brain.

Hopefully she meets someone that is more suited for her and they will be able to grow old together. Shania is a wonderful, warm person and she deserves (after all she has been through in her life) to find that person she can grow old with.
