In December, Shania Twain took a gander at a $3.285 million, 2,120-square-foot, four-bedroom in 254 PAS. Twain wasn’t there for the card tables though. Rather, the country singer had good vibrations for the acoustic quality of the 14-foot ceilings in the unit. Excellent for impromptu jam sessions perhaps for her rumored new album? If she buys, hopefully the neighbors are fans.
It’s amazing what we surrender our money to when something is thrown in for free. A sal****er pool, in-residence sommeliers, state-of-the-art screening rooms, fitness centers — as long as the gimmicks, er, over-the-top amenities are free, then someone inevitably will find the purchase a good deal.
254 Park Avenue South joins the pool of residential properties taking a gamble by offering free perks. They are in the process of converting the 1,400-square-foot basement space, of the 13-story prewar condo conversion, into a poker lounge. The Park Lounge will have poker tables for residents who are tempted to take a few rounds of risk.
“The convenience of a poker room in your building allows for entertainment without having to go out,” says Megan Master a student in the NYU Hospitality School’s master program. “These luxury buildings are following the trend of all-inclusive resort hotels. They are making it so there is no reason to leave the property.”
Clearly, it takes a certain person during a recession to find living in a space that could potentially deplete savings, part of the long-term plan. And because it’s impossible to gamble without boozing, there is a bar — which of course has a building signature ****tail. Residents have to BYOB though, the bar isn’t stocked. And for those who pass out in the Park Lounge, make sure to tip the doorman who has to escort you back to your place.

I can see her moving to New York and staying there more often, especially when she is touring or has an album out, she wants to be more with the fans right, and be more in the public eye,
Yes I have seen a few blogs saying she has been checking out apartments and condos in New York in December.
I doubt very much she is moving there at all. It is just a home where she probably will be at where she does most of recording and base for touring in U.S.
Her home base will always be Switzerland and she has many homes around the world. But to suggest she is moving there because she is looking to buy is absurd. People with Shania's wealth have several homes and each has a purpose I would think. I think she will be doing almost all of recording there which is my guess.

I doubt that very much. She is still a private person basically.
If you cast your minds back to last year, Ian Halperin had written something in one of his blogs about Shania wanting to move to New York. There's no reason why she wouldn't want to buy a place there to fit in with her recording career plans. She said she feels like a tourist when she goes there and gotta come more often.
If things don't work out with Fred, she's probably just weighing up her options. I think she'll stay put in Switzerland for now. And remember her ex and Fred's ex still live close by and that has to be an uncomfotable situation for Shania to deal with, even though it means Eja can have better access to his Dad that way.
I don't think she would move Eja there. That would be a major culture shock for a 10 year old.Switzerland to Lower Manhattan completely different worlds.
