Mustique, the tiny West Indies island where Mick Jagger and Tommy Hilfiger own houses, hasn't lost its sparkle, despite the economic crisis. In fact, even if you had the £6-£7 million required to buy one of the island's more modest properties, it would be tricky. Only one of the 98 houses has appeared on the market since the banking crisis and it sold a couple of weeks ago. Clearly, the celebrities and CEOs who have fallen in love with the island since it was developed in the Fifties view their homes there as the ultimate trophy.
It is easy to see why. This week, while we were freezing our socks off at home, singer Shania Twain, who owns a ranch on the island, was soaking up the sun and paddling in the sea without anyone disturbing her. For more information on buying or renting property in Mustique: 001 784 488 8000.
I really think Shania Twain was not on some Island soaking up the sun. I am sorry there are not pictures and it's a news paper I think Shania is busy with music it seems to weird for her to be relaxing this time of year.
lol!!! people magazine just posted her stupid blog and vidoe and what it is about. Exactly as I predicted. She talks about being in the carribean and still writing lmao!!! The woman is a complete joke and insulting her fans,. So the excited news was video of her with the torch and at the canadian radio station.
Time to focus on real artists who will be in Vancouver for their country showing the world a good time. Not some zillionare sitting on her butt in the Carribean lying to the fans and leading them on. How long will the niave fans actually believe she is writing lol!!!
Sorry folks nothing at all about music or her being at the Olympics with her fellow artists.
Time for everyone to move on,. She has made fools of everyone.
I know this comes a little late since the last posting to this thread. I have always been a Shania fan- liked her early stuff alot. I know a bit about Mustique because I work there regularly. Let me clear up a couple of things that I have recently seen on the Net. Shania does not own a ranch on Mustique. She-like most people who have property there- lives in what most Americans would deem a nice house- not a mansion. It sits on- like most houses there- on something less than two acres. Properties do not sell for astronomical sums- some go for 11 to 15 million. A lot of money to be sure, but houses like that sell everyday in California or Florida. Locals don't carry cameras (do you take a camera around your home town?) and are not at all wowed by Mick Jagger buying OJ at the local grocers. People who are flown in to work on the island (like myself), realize that they are incredibly fortunate to be working in paradise and very quickly understand that taking pictures or acting like a giddy tourist will get you a plane ride off the island almost instantly. There is no "press" on the island. It is the only place in the world (and I have been fortunate to see a very big junk of it) that the airlines will not change my reservation until it is confirmed allowable by my employer. No one flies in that have not been vetted by the Mustique Company and I suspect that if a paparazzi was to board one of the two daily ferrys, they would be met at the dock. That is one reason famous people like it there. They are treated as anonymous by everybody, no press or pictures and the locals are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in my travels. And yes, just by posting this I am in some small degree endangering my yearly trips there to work.
