Lady Antebellum launch their You Look Good World Tour with Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young on May 26th in Bakersfield, California, and the musically like-minded artists have already been tossing around song ideas to cover together onstage.
In a new video premiering on Rolling Stone Country, Ballerini and Young join Lady A members Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, on guitar, for a stripped-down take on Shania Twain's 1998 country chart-topper "You're Still the One."
"I've always been a big Shania Twain fan. I've always thought she made timeless music," says Kelley, who came up with the idea to cover the ballad. "And, man, 'Still the One' is such a timeless song and a timeless melody."
While Lady A haven't decided exactly which songs they may interpret on their upcoming trek, "You're Still the One" is in the running. "If the fans love it, then I think we should try to do it out on tour," Kelley says.
The group is also excited at the creative options that arise from bringing a horn section on the road. Brass is a big part of current single "You Look Good," and the trio have been re-crafting some of their past hits, like "Downtown," with horns.
"We are going to get really creative," Kelley says of the tour's setlist. "We've learned we've got to do something to make it fresh for somebody who has come to our show every time we are in their town. We always mix up the set list a lot, but now adding a horn section is going to take it to the next level."
Lady Antebellum will release their new album Heart Break on June 9th.
