Rising country band King Calaway have taken on Shania Twain!
The six-piece boy band comprising Chris Deaton, Caleb Miller, Simon Dumas, Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis, and Austin Luther, released an Amazon Original cover of Twain’s hit “You’re Still The One” Friday.
“When Amazon Music tasked us with covering a ’90s country song, we immediately gravitated towards Shania — undeniably one of the biggest superstars of that decade,” says Dumas in a press release.
“We chose ‘You’re Still The One’ because we feel it’s a timeless song that has the ability to entertain every generation. We worked tirelessly to make this track our own while also paying tribute to its origins; and, of course, we had to shower it in King Calaway harmonies!”
The emerging band announced they will release their first full-length album Rivers on October 4, which will build on their five-song EP.
Produced by Robert Deaton and Ross Copperman, Rivers will feature seven new tracks following their hit single “World For Two”, which became the No. 1 most added song at country radio in its debut week.
“You’re Still The One” is available now to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music.
So original! Shania has had many beautiful songs. I wish other artists paid more attention to other her works. It's easy to sing YSTO as it will make people talk but how about giving another chance to a less known song?
