I wonder what Shania's plans are for after December? I wonder if she'll extend her residency and do a full two year run. I can't see someone like Lindsay Ell being in her band for two years given she has her own career.
My theory on why this residency is at the Bakkt Theater and why it is so similar to Let's Go and the QoM tour and the cost savings is that maybe she had some sort of contractual agreement with Planet Hollywood for Let's Go and because of the pandemic she still owes them shows.
Shania still seems to be in a very celebritory mood and wants to be on stage so I wonder if a Spring/Summer 2025 tour is in the works. I could also see her staying in Vegas but I don't see a new album for at least three years. But who knows.
I agree with you. For the "Let's Go" residency she had to cancel lots of shows, then she had an album to finish and to promote, so those canceled shows were missing from the original contract with Planet Hollywood back in 2019.
I don't think she'll be in Vegas in 2025. I wonder why she has 3 free months this Fall. Maybe she will record that long awaited Christmas Album or she has other plans not yet announced.

When Shania announced her new residency in Las Vegas I thought she had a lot of shows canceled last time because of COVID-19 and made this to make up for those shows. In Las Vegas, It is hard to reschedule.

Covid was beyond her control. She didn't cancel at her own call. The health regulations made it difficult for anyone to have a concerts back then. This is a new contract.

Is it just me or does it seem like Shania really isn't putting much effort into Vegas? I mean like the style and band members. Everything just seems like such cheap production.
Last night of this Vegas run and it’s so bittersweet. I can’t wait to meet more of my fans tonight - like this kid Jet was so memorable! 🤠 But in announcing the final shows of this residency I realize our time is finite and I’ve had such an incredible time with you all that I never truthfully want it to end! Come and see me before we begin the next chapter!
Is it just me or does it seem like Shania really isn't putting much effort into Vegas? I mean like the style and band members. Everything just seems like such cheap production.
I agree. Something seems off about it and like she's just going through the motions. It's looks like a cheap and tacky mashup of Let's Go and the QoM tour. The costumes are reused from Let's Go - the dress she wears during the "Twain Town" set is the MIFLAW dress from Let's Go and the black "Fiona" dress is the same dress she opened Let's Go with at the 2019 shows. The IGGG set is the same set and choreography that has been used since the NOW tour with the addition of the motorcycle that was used during Still the One and the QoM tour. "Twain Town" has now been used for several different shows as well.
I think this band sounds better than the QoM band but there are still improvements I would make. I like that she's singing live but there are several songs I would switch to playback or lower to a more appropriate key like FAFA and Up. I initially thought she was singing MIFLAW live, but every show including the UK tour shows sound exactly the same. It's super odd that she's miming to a harmony - I don't know why they didn't lower the song and record a track of her singing the melody in a lower key - or just use the old track that had been used since the NOW tour.
Shania Twain Is Still the One at Her ‘Come on Over’ Las Vegas Residency
By Eliza Thompson | Us Weekly | September 16, 2024
There is perhaps no universe in which Us Weekly would have a bad time at a Shania Twain concert, but still, the bar is exceedingly high. After all, this is a woman famous for riding a horse on stage during her first Las Vegas residency.
Alas, there are no live equines involved in her latest residency, Come on Over, but any disappointment that might cause passes as soon as Twain, 59, launches into one of her many ’90s earworms. Besides, who needs a real horse when you’ve got a horse-shaped motorcycle, a troupe of shirtless dancing cowboys and a backdrop called the Twain Town Saloon?
Twain begins the show with “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)” from the smash 1997 album that gives the residency its name, then follows with a few lesser hits from 2002’s Up! and last year’s Queen of Me. None of these songs are bad, but they aren’t really “all the hits” promised in the show’s title.
That all changes about 20 minutes in when she starts “You’re Still the One,” the Come on Over ballad that’s been soundtracking weddings for more than 25 years. At this point, it becomes impossible to resist the spectacle — and to stop yourself from belting it out along with Twain, who seems to get more comfortable on stage as the night progresses.
From then on, it’s nothing but bangers till the grand finale: “No One Needs to Know,” “Any Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” and so on. One particular highlight was “Honey, I’m Home,” a Come on Over single that’s not quite as well-known as the bigger hits but still packs a punch nearly 30 years after its release.
Twain begins the song a cappella, singing along with her acoustic guitar while perched on the bar of the aforementioned Twain Town Saloon set. Maybe it was just the high of getting a free T-shirt at the merch table (because we spent too much money), but the song really got Us thinking about Twain’s legacy. While few country music fans would deny that she’s a trailblazer, her contributions to the genre sometimes seem in danger of being overlooked. Her work has always had a feminist message, but — and she’s acknowledged this herself — she wasn’t always taken seriously because of the way she looked.
“Honey, I’m Home” is the perfect encapsulation of what makes Twain’s music so great. It’s a playful and catchy tune about a woman coming home from work and wanting her man to perform all the traditionally “feminine” tasks a wife might do for her husband: “Pour me a cold one and oh, by the way / Rub my feet, gimme something to eat / Fix me up my favorite treat.”
Underneath the lilting melody, though, there’s a deeper truth — yeah, it would be nice if men did a little more domestic labor, especially if their partners are doing some or all of the breadwinning.
“This is a historically challenging time for women to find space in many, many realms,” she told the Belfast Telegraph in 2022. “I hope I can give other women the confidence not to fear feeling comfortable in their own skin. To refuse to be intimidated by anyone. It’s a right and you need to own that.”
While Twain might not be as politically outspoken as some of her more contemporary counterparts, there’s no question that she kicked open the saloon doors in country music, and her latest residency is a good reminder of that fact. As long as she’s willing to say “let’s go girls,” Us will be there with boots on.
I feel like this video from @ainsleyshaniaa perfectly encaptures how chaotic and fun my Come On Over - Las Vegas show is 😂 Come and have fun with us - Tickets for my shows November through to February are on sale now! Shania Twain returns to her ‘Come On Over’ residency in Las Vegas
By Matt Kelemen | Las Vegas Magazine | November 25, 2024
You can definitely call the current arc in Shania Twain’s career a comeback. The five-time Grammy winner has been on an ascendency since recovering from voice-impacting health problems, beginning with her move to Republic Records and the release of her 2023 album Queen of Me. The “Shaniassance” continued with a triumphant tour and climaxed this summer with her critically acclaimed appearance at England’s Glastonbury Festival.
She received a lot of press for her hosting gig at the People’s Choice Country Awards in October as well. A blonde Twain was lowered to the stage seated within an open heart and then welcomed the audience to the show, resplendent in a white cowgirl fringe outfit she had exchanged for the denim dress bedazzled with blue crystals that she wore on the red carpet, but maintaining the retro hairstyle that made her resemble Nancy Sinatra at a distance.
It was her last major public appearance before beginning the final rounds of her Planet Hollywood residency, Come On Over. It’s not her last rodeo, though, and probably not her last residency. Twain plans to spend time in the recording studio after Come On Over concludes, and looks to be influenced by a surplus of positive energy accumulated during the past two years.
Twain has transcended being a country or a pop performer. Her shows are a celebration of her music, and Twain effortlessly leads her audiences into a collective state of ecstasy. She arrived for Glastonbury’s prestigious Legends slot on the last Sunday afternoon in June trailed by drag queens bearing hobby horses to open with “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
She wore a pink ruffled cape likely visible from the back of the field. Pink cowboy hats and leopard-skin patterns were abundant among audience members who helped make Queen of Me No. 1 in the U.K., and participated in flash mob dances to “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” Even the line of security guards protecting the stage got in on the act.
Twain soaks up love and admiration and delivers it right back to her fans. If the endorphins produced by that bond didn’t assist her on the road to recovery from Lyme disease and dysphonia, they surely didn’t hurt. The Shania Twain that appeared at the People’s Choice Country Awards seemed like an altogether new person very much living in the moment.
The next mystery to solve is what her new music will sound like. Twain added the first two singles from Queen of Me—“Waking Up Dreaming” and “Giddy Up!”—to her previous Come On Over setlists. She could keep moving in the contemporary pop direction that characterizes those songs or move in the retro direction her Nancy Sinatra look hinted at.
It’s no mystery why Mattel honored Twain earlier this year with a Barbie 65th birthday tribute doll made in her image. Her likeness was outfitted in a black corset dress and top hat inspired by her iconic look in the video for “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” The Barbie did impress her much.
Shania kicked off the third leg of her "Come On Over - All The Hits!" residency last night (November 29). As usual for her November and December residency shows, Shania added Christmas songs to the setlist ("Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and "Little Drummer Boy").
It looks like 3 out of 5 dancers left. Kevin Mylrea, Ricky Munoz and Hamilton Evans. 2 new dancers (Cameron Turner and Kalon Badenhorst) have joined Leo Lam and Darrell Rivera.
I’m feeling very thankful to be back in my happy place this holiday weekend - The first night back at @phlivevegas to kick off the final shows of 2024 did not disappoint!!
